I received full tuition support from the Ruth Deter Scholarship Fund that allowed me to study with Dr. Beverly Flynn. Upon graduation, I accepted an assistant professor appointment.

My best memories are of taking students on study abroad programs over the past 20 years. Together we learned about nursing and healthcare systems in Nicaragua, Japan, Swaziland, Mexico, Liberia, China, and Costa Rica. I believe Indianapolis is richer for having nurses with global knowledge and experience that allows them to increase their intellectual agility and employ diverse perspectives in developing solutions to improve patient care and healthcare systems here in Indiana.
